Vision Statement for West Pointers in Media and Entertainment (WPME)
WPME envisions becoming a premier collaborative network of West Point graduates and associates, fostering innovation and leadership in media and entertainment, with a focus on the film, television, and theatre industries. WPME harnesses the unique strengths of members and incubates, develops, produces, distributes, and promotes impactful media and entertainment content of high quality that reflects the values of leadership, inspiration, and service.
Over the next 3 to 5 years, WPME aims to:
Lead creative collaborations: WPME members launch multiple high-profile projects each year that generate both creative acclaim and financial return.
Expand distribution channels: WPME develops a robust self-sustaining distribution network (e.g., “WPME Presents” YouTube channel) that enables members to monetize their projects and reach global audiences.
Nurture emerging talent: WPME creates mentoring opportunities and partnership projects (e.g., a West Point film festival) to support the next generation of artists, filmmakers, and content creators from current cadets, graduates, and associates.
Leverage cutting-edge technologies: Where possible, WPME incorporates virtual production and AI-driven tools to streamline content creation, reduce production costs, and increase speed of production delivery, while maintaining the heart and soul of the artists, writers, and other creatives.
Foster strategic partnerships: WPME forms alliances with industry leaders, veterans’ organizations (e.g., Veterans in Media and Entertainment, United States Veterans Artists’ Alliance), and academy networks to provide resources, funding, and opportunities for members to thrive in their respective industries.
